Before/After Mao/Nixon

Dining room before/after

We are breaking some type of record for the number of small boxes used in our move, ugh! I take no pride in this title, it is very similar to the time a waitress announced that she had never seen anyone finish a slice of the cheesecake at her restaurant, as she gazed at my empty plate. I honestly did donate a tremendous amount of my worldy possessions, yet I still look like a crazy hoarding cat lady, minus the cats. Aren't those cupcakes cute? My sister brought over a dozen farewell Mao/Nixon cupcakes much to our delight.  I will hopefully start blogging as soon as possible in Shanghai.

Oh, all those packed boxes make me a little sad. I'm trying to spin it as hopeful, though...the fun you'll have unpacking them again. Happy Trails! I can't wait to read how it goes in CHINA!

Very clever to take the photo of your treasures packed up... are you truly going to have them shipped? I envisioned you buying new furnishings there and only packing your trinkets and doodads.

Please make a safe journey and post whenever you can. Don't worry about not having cats, especially where you're going. You don't know what happens to cats over there.

Love
Sasha

It's so tempting to say, "I miss you already" but then I think, hey.... she's going to be our 'correspondent' in Shanghai!!! You know, kind of a "Linda, Gar, Lulu & Deke's Excellent Adventure" thing! How ingenious of you to space everyone out so you can get to know EVERYBODY on the plane.... making friends along the way~~ so Linda!
Seriously, hope all goes as smoothly as possible from here on out. Thinking of you and the book you'll write on the "6001 Uses for Chopsticks" (once you get settled, of course).
xoxo
