Lulu is turning 15 on June 17, and her only birthday wish is to return to Paris this summer. Our last trip was a couple years ago and we rented an adorable little apartment in Paris. Unfortunately, Lulu envisions more luxurious accommodations this time, she's leaning towards the George V. She is also anxious to put her year of Honors French to good use during a day trip to Versailles. I'm off to play the Lotto.

Perhaps this is my cholesterol talking, but I find these unused fried chicken buckets quite charming! I think they will make the perfect gift basket for the right recipient. I found the buckets in two different junk stores in Chicago, and believe it or not, they were all super inexpensive. I had a feeling that the shopkeepers were muttering "people will buy anything",
Our kids have been visited by so many magical gift givers, The April Fool leaves them a gag gift on April 1st, a leprechaun leaves them gold and green gifts on St. Patrick's Day, Uncle Sam on the 4th of July and of course, Santa, the Easter Bunny, and the Tooth Fairy visit. Valentine's Day is of obviously when Cupid comes to our home. Cupid always finds it very difficult coming up with a Valentine gift for Deke, there are a limited number of red action figures out there.
This is a snow dome I made for my first swap! I also made a little box out of a Candy Land board game so it will stay safe in the mail.
Do you lose gifts that you have squirreled away for the holidays? When I find a gift during the year I store it in my "prize closet" and retrieve it for the holidays. Unfortunately, I always seem to lose something in the closet. I am currently tearing the house up looking for a sock monkey, a gold Richard Nixon pin covered in faux pearls and a signed book. I only have five days to find them, yikes!!!!

Mr. Man has a been invited through a work thingy to attend the Oprah Show tomorrow morning, he has no idea what the subject of the show is going to be. We are getting closer to the holidays and I was just thinking Oprah's favorites would be a pleasing show to see!!! I wouldn't necessarily want a refrigerator with a T.V. in it, but she does hand out some pretty cool things. It would be a tragedy if Dr. Oz is the guest tomorrow. Mr. Man will be hyperventilating in a bag with the first internal organ Dr. Oz waves around. Maybe Oprah could sign Mr. Man's clammy forehead as the paramedics rush him out of the studio. Keep your fingers crossed ladies, I could use some comfy jammies and a tiny camera.
This year for the holidays I am going to do tons of baking. I thought a pretty way to festoon my gifts would be with chocolate cards. This is a little example of a chocolate place card I made for one of LuLu's parties.
