The first leg of our trip involved all of us sitting in the middle seats of different rows in the airplane, beautiful planning! No one would budge so I could sit with my kids. I had Gar check how we are going to be seated on the way to China for 14 hours, and it is a little bit better. Gar is seated somewhere in the nether regions and the kids will be seated next to me.
I will be relieved to finally get situated in our new home. For reasons unknown I packed a suitcase full of socks and only one pair of pants for Lulu, so I will need to go shopping very soon. Look out Super Brand Mall.

Love the way you are flying. I see you out there on the wings. I hope Google's dispute with China doesn't have any effect on your blogging ability. xo Joan
And the adventure begins! LOL....Hopefully the China leg will be better!
I hope the flight there was the worst part of this journey!!!
Oh Linda, I have been meaning to write ever since I read about the move coming up and here you are already on your way. I've been lost in my own little life, I guess. What an awesome adventure! One of my dad's oldest friends was a Missionary in China for 20-30 some years (raised their kids there) and they still talk of their time so fondly and almost longingly. I know this is a chance not many get in life and you will know how to suck every drop out of it. Can't wait to see what you show us from there. You are a brave woman with a brave family and I admire you all so much! And, you could write a book about this. If anyone can, you can - add it to the list of books I want you to write along with the TV show. All my best wishes!

I bet you will be exhausted when you get there. Have fun shopping.
there is nothing better than a clean pair of socks. sounds like lulu will have nothing better for a long while.
Glad to hear from you, Linda!
Don't forget to get up and stretch to keep those joints and blood flow going.
I am so excited for you and loving the vicarious thrills. I hope some of those socks are at least knee high. <# XO
You could stitch all of the socks into a new pair of pants! HA.
Chicago already misses you.
Safe travels.
Oh be on the look-out for cupcakes in China and report back please. My Enquiring mind wants to know. ;)
Good luck to you with your big move, I would love if you could use The Lady from Shanghai as your alias :D
...Hopefully the China leg will be better!

Oh gosh that looks so exciting!! Thanks for sharing :)
Lordy, Lordy. The craziness of flying. The same exact thing happened over and over to me and my kids during our flights to France. One time when I was going without Todd, they even had my 2 yr old by himself! The flight attendant started to grumble about moving seats and I asked her as nicely as I could if I should give her the diaper bag now or later. (I was beginning to lose patience by that point.)
Hope things are going better!
Hopefully you arrived safe and sound!!
I may have missed this, but why did you have to move?
Peace...
Becky
Hope your flight was a good one. We miss you. xo
It is beyond me why someone would not move to let parents and children sit together, especially on an overseas flight. And at this Lulu did not employ Loopy's usual trick of drooling and leaning on the reluctant mover?
Can't wait to hear more... get there safe.
xoxo
