Perhaps we could use a new shelter magazine on junk store, flea market and garbage picked decorating.

Where Are My Shelter Magazines?
Tired of snow, our horrible economy, joblessness, Octo-Mom? This is the perfect time to curl up with a stack of shelter magazines and catch up on home decorating ideas, but it's getting harder and harder to find those magazines. A year ago I would have been enjoying Mary Engelbreit's Home Companion (my house was featured in it one year ago), Country Home, O at Home, Domino, Blueprint, and Cottage Living, but they have all recently ceased publication.

I so agree. I'm still boo-hooing over Home Companion!
"...a new shelter magazine on junk store, flea market and garbage picked decorating..."
no! You had me til 'garbage-picked' *haha!* how about 'upcycled' or 'repurposed'?
* : )
People with that eye--to find beauty in trash--they amaze me.
YES !!!!!
I hear ya!!!!!
Nothing gave me a lift like getting my sweet Cottage Living mag in the mail.
We're turning an old church into a cabin and that mag was my inspiration.
They replaced it with This Old House, lovely but
...BOO...WHO...
I loved my Cottage Living.
I too need something to fill the whole they left.
Brilliant idea, Linda. :)
I would subscribe to your magazine. It could be called "The Re-purposed Home" or "Tagged"
Sadness. I had no idea O at Home was no longer published.
I want to be on staff at your new magazine! What a great idea!
I had no idea Domino was out, too. I've exhausted the design books at my library. Where else is a girl to turn for inspiration?
You are so right. I am most sad about the loss of Country Home and Home Companion. Where will we see artists like you showcased now? I am also sad about our Canadian Home and Country folding. It was my favourite Canadian magazine...
It's depressing, really. I don't think we will see any new mags start up anytime soon.
~Sigh~
Linda
I think it is a great idea. I have also heard that some magazines quit printing and are going totally online only.

Here, Here!!! Why are all of those magazines going away?

Hi Linda,
I've come to bring you good news! LoftLife magazine, is a new shelter magazine with a strong focus on sound design, contemporary furnishings, and sustainable living. I would love for you to check out what we are all about. The shelter world hasn't fallen just quite yet, LoftLife will prove that to be a farce! It's worth a read: www.loftlifemag.com

Hello Linda,
Love these magazines!
~ Gabriela ~
Are you serious?? I knew about Home Companion but not the others! WOW, that really stinks. I would LOVE a magazine on junk store, flea market, fun vintage collections & garbage picked decorating~ and who better to start a magazine like that than my friend Linda Crispell :) That's my Vote! Can I go ahead a place my order now??
The magazines are falling at an alarming rate. More to follow, I am sure.
Unfortunately for all of us, junky celeb mags will likely continue on, to keep us all posted about Jessica's jean size and Jen's love life.
It makes me sad. I spent so many great hours reading those mags from front to back. I loved it back when they knew an antique when they saw one, tolerated them telling me to fill my house with garage sale stuff. Now they've left me... darn....
I too am heart-broken over the loss of my favorite magazines. Home Companion was especially hard. I know I've done my part to keep these guys in business!!!
I am also missing several of these magazine. Most especially ME. Loved that magazine. Great idea about a thrift decorating magazine. Of course it would have to be printed on recycled paper!
