Toby's Show

My little brother, Toby Summerfield is performing tonight in Chicago. I always feel like I'm part of a "happening" when I attend his shows.

"Organized last winter by guitarist Toby Summerfield, the all-star sextet Sheep or Shepherd gathers an impressive cast for this gig at Skylark, just its second performance. Summerfield is the leader of the experimental Never Enough Hope ensemble and a recent addition to jazzy post-rock quintet Algernon. For this endeavor, he has written and arranged tunes for his bandmates – multi-instrumentalist John Herndon (Tortoise, A Grape Dope), bassist Matt Lux (Isotope 217), trombonist Nick Broste (Herculaneum, Mucca Pazza), vibraphonist Katie Wiegman (Algernon) and trumpeter Jaimie Branch (Branch/Riordan Duo). Come on out for this one; it’s free. (Scott Morrow)"

If he is half as entertaining as you are, it will be great!

The Fan and I were just discussing the concept of a "happening" the other day and wondered aloud if people still used that phrase. I suppose you should have sprung to my mind immediately.
