Aren't These Pretty?
I have to admit that I am not much of a baseball fan, but I do love these old baseball cards. The colors are just extraordinary! These cards were distributed by the American Tobacco Company in the early 1990s in packs of cigarettes and loose tobacco.
Keep your eyes peeled for a Honus Wagner card, the rarest and most valuable of them all. Collectors believe Wagner's cards are rare because he stopped allowing the American Tobacco Co. to use his image, fearing it would encourage children to smoke. There are only 60 of his cards in existence, and one sold in 2007 for 2.35 million dollars.

Yes, they are!
I love the graphics. The colors are very vibrant.
I have to say that they are beautiful and that makes me smile. When I started my blog I told my first readers that I didn't know where this blog was heading, but that I definitely wanted to tell about my 'collections' and that I collect everything, except for militaria, cars and baseball cards, but I might change the latter now! Have a great day!
Do you have these in your collection? They would be great matted and framed together. I have never seen any of these cards ever. I will definitly be on the look out for them though. Especially Wagner's card.
Greay graphics, Linda! Love your new banner!! It's adorable. xo
Okay, that was supposed to say "great graphics," not something that looks like a weird English misspelling...mini-laptop, mini-type! Maybe it's time for glasses... xo
The cards are gorgeous!
And thanks to my son's love for Dan Gutman chapter books (including Honus & Me,) I know all about it! And I don't know anything about baseball!
Have your kids ever read them?
Very nice! I love to look at stuff like this and imagine what they looked like to a set of eyes when they were new and modern. Loving the blog banner too...
They are lovely! I'm with you - don't really care for baseball, but appreciate all the stuff that goes along with it. :)
BTW, LOOOOOOOVE your new header and design!
Wow, those are cool! I have some vintage cards reprinted on postcards that work well for Team Testosterone's thank you notes--have them sitting next to me RIGHT NOW!
I have one! I have a Honus card . . . just kidding. Wouldn't that be wonderful to find in your folks' old paper drawer? Wow. If I did, I'd put up the money to produce The Linda Crispell Show and we'd knock Martha Stewart "outta here" (in my best umpire voice).
And to a true baseball fan, worth every penny. Almost as much as a Cubs win.
These are beautiful. But, remind me one day to tell you why baseball cards make me sick to my tummy. It has to do with scissors, three very rare cards and my Barbie's doll house.
