My Garden

Robot/Tin Man Birdhouse made from a coffee can

Vintage doll pram rescued from the curb

I found this wonderful sign at the flea market

My new favorite thing to look for at junk stores and flea markets is wonderful vintage items that I can repurpose in the garden. Old metal dollhouses are so affordable and they look beautiful at night aglow with candlelight. This red metal house was only $8.00 and it can withstand any kind of weather! Can you believe someone was throwing away this old doll pram? It makes the perfect planter, and it can be easily wheeled around the garden.
I have discovered there is a fine line between clever repurposing and resembling Fred Sanford's yard, so I am constantly editing.

I had a metal dollhouse with the little plastic furniture. It was in my parents' attic. I think one of my siblings took it and sold it on e-bay because it disappeared.

You have a lovely garden! Your imagination is incredible!

I love the pie sign! Fantastic. I had a metal dollhouse, too. I don't know what happened to it but you've given me a terrific idea for the garden. I'll have to keep an eye out for one!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BABY! Is there a tiny birthday cake inside the dollhouse?

I am in looooove with your back yard and all your finds, and the illuminated dollhouse actually looked like a tiny house far away on a hillside under the moon.

You are a genius at putting these things together.

It all looks great in person too. I have have the opportunity to see it all in "real life." I know what you mean though about the fine line...I love lots of stuff at other people's yards, but at mine, not so much.

Just got a full size buggy at Curbmart and was thinking of doing the same thing. Small is always cuter. The dollhouse is a fun idea. I'm always moving, adding and subtracting in my yard too.

Hi Linda! Love the Bastille Day post!! I was in Paris with a friend 10 years ago on Bastille Day. We spent all our francs at the flea markets, so we had to take the train out to the airport. We didn't realize that we had the wrong tickets -- which you have to insert to get out of the train station and into the airport. Because it was the holiday, the ticket counters were closed. We had to scale the fence with all our luggage. Hope they aren't still looking for us. (: Know what you mean about the Sanford effect; I'm always on alert! xo

Hello my bloggy friend! WooHoo!!! Party day is just a week away! I'm so looking forward to seeing everyone's creative spaces. I have a request... I thought it would be easier for everyone to leave comments if we all turned off comment moderation and word verification during the day (or maybe week) of the party. To do that, go to customize, settings, comments...then scroll down to turn off comment moderation and word verification.
I hope you have a wonderful weekend and a fabulous week. See you next Friday!!
