Blogapalooza
I signed up for Blogapalooza with travel writer Angela K. Nickerson at her blog "Just Go!" to write about my scariest travel story. I thought this would be a piece of cake, then I sat at the computer with absolutely nothing coming to me. I called to Mr. Man and he didn't have any suggestions, he actually said we've never had any travel nightmares! Wow, could this be? We've done tons of traveling with two children without any mishaps. I could think of plenty of scary traveling stories from when I was a child. My daughter walked in the den and I asked her if she had any memories about traveling misadventures. Oh, yeah tons she said. How about the time Deke had to go to the emergency room in Horse Cave, Kentucky or when he got his head stuck in a chair at the Alice in Wonderland tea party at Disney World. The time our car broke down in Nowhere, Pennsylvania and we had to ride in a tow truck for two hours or the time she threw up salt water taffy all night in Mackinaw. How about the time in Paris when you complained that the sheets in the folding bed hadn't been changed from the previous guest and we had to listen to the apartment manager yelling about us from her apartment all night? Finally she said, "Mom, an easier question would have been do I have any memories of traveling when we haven't had any nightmares? No!"
I had truly forgotten about all of these things, I guess that's why we still go on trips.
Please check out Angela's blog she has three giveaways!!!
(can you tell I just figured out how to link from my post???)

LOL! THat is too funny. Poor little guy getting his head stuck in the chair of the ride at Disney World...tsk...tsk...tsk. Isn't it funny what kids remember. THere world is so different from an adult's world.
Your family must have tons of memories. What fun! We hope to travel a lot with our 3 boys. We drove from WI to FL last year--and did fine!
I've been perusing the pictures on you blog - cute stuff!
Family travel can be totally harrowing! But it sounds like you guys always came through well. Thanks for participating in Blogapalooza!
It's great that you and your husband were able to forget about all the travel mishaps. It sounds like there were many interesting experiences ;)
I guess that's why we still go on trips.
It's also why people still have daughters (and sons) -- to remind the parents when their own memories seem to include only diapers, changing stations, the baby-food aisles in alien supermarkets... :)
LOL Looks like you are a very positive person and take it all in your stride. Good on you!
Cute story! Your memory has been kind to you. I like the pictures on your blog!
Oh my, you've had events at each stop, haven't you?
That was funny! My husband could not help me either. I should have asked the kids!
Leave it to the youngsters to remember everything we try to forget...
Hugs..
Thanks for the laugh! I enjoyed the post.
your daughter is a hoot!
And you have just unearthed the secret to happiness. Thank you.

Ha! Leave it to the children to remember things we want to forget!

That's too funny!
I guess it's good that we have selective memories--and that our kids remember the things we don't!
It sounds like our families would have traveled well together!
thanks for the giggles ... I have that habit, too (remembering the good - what bad?).
giggling here...
Linda, thanks for the visit, I do so hope that no-one has any horror stories from Le Chateau !! But now I'm going to check out your blog further because I'm seriously envious of those ever so funky spots.
How funny that it took your daughter to remember your stories. I'm glad to see I'm not the only one with memory loss! The apartment manager sounded like a nightmare~ Yikes!!
Congrats on figuring out how to link, Yay!
Now for the bad news....You've been Tagged by me, please take a look at my blog for the details.
