Ruler Chair

I have been collecting vintage rulers so I could use them for wainscotting, but after seeing this adorable ruler chair I am rethinking the wainscotting plan. I am a big fraidy cat when it comes to power tools, so I would have to tackle my fear and start hacking up the rulers. At least measuring the wood will be easy! I shall enjoy all ten of my fingers in the meantime.

Linda, I have a project in my to-do binder that actually combines your last two posts...using vintage rulers on a pre-made birdhouse.

That chair is to die for! Oh, what great folk art! Get busy... remember.. power tools are our friends.... It can't eat your finger if you don't feed it! Sage advice...

I've never considered wainscotting out of vintage rulers but am now OBSESSED. What a great idea. I adore the chair, tho. PJ is right - power tools are our friends. And nothing makes me feel as studly as my cordless drill. I haven't decided if the drill actually plays "I am woman, hear me roar" or if that's just in my head.

I love your blog, I am a friend of TumbleFish, so I have been checking out some the the links on her page. I wish I had a photo that my cousin and I took in Las Vegas a few years ago in a store in the Forum Shops of Caesars Palace. It was a chair similar to the ruler chair, but it was completely covered with multi colored wooden pencils. The were asking for over $2000.00 for it. I have covered a birdhouse with some, but never went to the extreme of covering a chair. I love your site!
