Multitask Studying
Lulu is taking her finals this week and it is bringing back a million memories for me. When I was in high school I would study at the University of Michigan Law Library with my friends. We would put on our preppiest clothes and soak up the collegiate atmosphere. The long tables in the library were rich dark brown and lit with brass lamps and green glass shades. This was an absolutely beautiful place to study. I think I actually did better on my exams studying in this environment. Lulu wouldn't dream of going to a library to study, she has to be hooked up to her i-pod, online and texting, and she still does incredibly well. Have libraries become obsolete to this generation?

Oh, how I hope not! I remeber loving the library in Huntington Beach, California as a girl..Floors and floors of books!
Yikes! I'm in the process of getting a library science degree, so I hope not either!
I even think libraries are becoming popular again due to the economy. People aren't purchasing books, movies, etc.
Well, I certainly hope libraries are not obsolete. Where would I use my sharply honed Dewey Decimal skills? I bet you won't let me near your color coded library! Hee Hee! Maybe the libraries should worry about you sneaking in and rearranging things so they look better! Hee hee more! Just kidding.
Finals were not my favorite part of high school or college. You are so intellectual. I'm all over the preppy thing though. I used to wear penny loafers and oxford shirts and argyle everyday! I miss those clothes.
Well, I am not commenting on your next post. I had to move quickly past. You may not remember I have a button phobia (made the oxford shirt wearing a little tough but I can handle securely attached buttons, just not loose ones) (and not that you should cater your posting to me!). I just found it funny as one of my good friends used to leave me a button on my computer before I got to work just to freak me out and we were just talking about it last night. Did he put you up to this? Seriously, loose buttons cause my heart to race and my throat to close. I am sure it is a lovely post full of very charming and clever buttonology. I have to leave now!
Thanks Linda. You don't have to apologize to me (though I know you are being funny)! I would love to think you put up all of your beautiful posts just for MY entertainment and enjoyment, but I try not to be so delusional all the time! I love every little and big thing you share with us. I am even thinking of some button therapy opportunities here. Maybe it would be good to go and look at them! I just found it so funny that you wrote about them after a long conversation with my friend about buttons on my computer last night - very coinkydink!
I had the opportunity to visit the UW (Huskies) campus and library. I hope to post pics in the future. It left me speechless (which is near impossible) from the overwhelming architectural details to A-l-l the books!!
I have such fond memories of taking my boys for reading time at the library, along with checking out as many books as their little arms could carry.
Sweet wishes,
Sara
