Measuring Up

Spent the weekend making this bench all snazzy. I found the bench at a garage sale, painted it and attached some of our colorful vintage yardsticks to the top. I picked up the big circus wagon from Etsy and it looks perfectly at home on my new ruler bench.
It was fun using a saw and hammer, it made me feel like I could build a little cabin in the woods (think Uni-bomber).

The unibomber never made a creation such as this, and you could rock the hell out of an orange jumpsuit anyway!

I can just imagine you building a little cabin out of yardsticks and rulers;)

So very cool. We are building here today...first thing that I have added to the house in years. As soon as were done I will be posting about it...think old house problems...each thing we do leads to another problem needed to be fixed before we're done...Yuk!

Love the bench and the vintage rulers! So cheery - and I love the circus wagon. What a find.

Unibomber? You need to grow a beard, first.

What an adorable idea to use yard sticks for the top of your bench!! I can't believe how crafty some of my favorite bloggers are. I guess that's why they're my faves!! : )

Love it! So colorful and fun.

And yes, using powertools makes me feel like the biggest badass ever, too. Not that the Unibomber was a badass. But you know what I mean.

As always, Linda-I love your style. From Deke's semi circular desk with the globe collection to the circus wagon(you KNOW I'd make a comment about that one!) you just have an eye....thanks for sharing the wonderful photos-gives me something to aspire to!
